Off on another adventure with Patty Ann
My sister and I wanted to visit my brother, Michael, and his wife Susan in Phoenix then on to Los Angeles to see our nephew Andrew. I’m heading out that way today, June 16, 2025, and taking Patty Ann.
Heading to Phoenix to see Susan and Michael.
Patty and I had talked about doing this trip after we got back from Italy. She was looking forward to both trips during her chemo, and especially after she finished her treatment and the doctors said she was cancer-free.
But it wasn’t to be, but I’m able to fulfill her dream, so I’m on my way.
Had a bit of a burp, though. I had a 6:05 a.m. Southwest flight out of the Bradenton-Sarasota airport. I set my alarm for 3 a.m. to be at the airport at 4 a.m.
When I awoke I noticed a text from Southwest, my flight was canceled and they rebooked me on a 2:45 p.m. flight.
The morning flight was going to be five hours with a stop in Houston, arriving in Phoenix around 9 a.m.
The 2:45 p.m. flight arrives in Phoenix around 7 p.m., with an hour to change planes in Columbus, Ohio, making it an eight-hour trip, plus the two hours sitting at the Bradenton-Sarasota airport.
The later flight also took a whole day I was planning on spending with my brother and Susan. Oh, well.
I’m leaving Phoenix on Thursday morning to go to Los Angeles to visit my nephew, Andrew, Michael’s son. Patty Ann really wanted to go to California. She has never been, and Missak, her partner who died of cancer several years ago always talked about how nice it was out there.
Finally arrived at the Phoenix airport. Boy it’s big. Michael picked me up and it was a nice drive to his home.
Susan and Michael gave me something to eat while we talked about our respective trips to Europe, the two of them having just returned from a tour of London, Belgium, Amsterdam, Norway, and Iceland.
Off to bed and asleep in two minutes. It was a long day.
Have fun Carl…😊
